Kasia Chichon

Kasia Chichon Kasia has been involved in the world of dance since the age of 4. As a dancer and performer she has trained extensively in ballet, modern and jazz techniques. Kasia attended Cawthra Park SS Regional Arts Program majoring in dance and received numerous awards and scholarships for dance performance and choreography. She furthered her training in the Professional Training Program of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre, studying the Graham technique and performing chosen works. Kasia has been fortunate to work with teachers and choreographers such as Michael Trent, Suzette Sherman, Kenny Pearl, Coralee McLaren, Patricia Fraser, Pat Miner, Karen Duplessis, Rosemary James, Patti Milne, Glenn Gilmour, Bob McCollum, Patricia Beatty and David Earle.

Kasia has been teaching dance since 1993 in the private sector as well as teaching dance for various school boards. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, completed her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and is a full member and Registered Teacher with the RAD. Kasia has also created specialized conditioning programs for dancers and sports athletes.

Currently, in addition to being the mother of two, Kasia is pursuing her Masters of Teaching (Dance) degree in a joint program between the RAD and the University of Surrey, in England. Much of her work focuses on teaching methodologies to optimize student learning, as well as investigating the social, economic and political factors which affect the dance learning environment. Kasia is a passionate teacher and choreographer, who aims to motivate her students to achieve their personal best.
